Our Evolution of Skirts
We wanted a good working skirt in denim. Whether you are gardening, doing chores or just busy through the day, it made sense to offer an everyday skirt that would carry your things and wear easily but look flattering. Our customers loved the Hippy Dress and Apron so it seemed a good choice to start there. We designed the Hippy Skirt. It’s the same fun, flattering drape. We kept the same big pockets that allow you to carry your things while exploring or doing chores. The simple elastic waist keeps dressing easy and it’s comfortable to wear as you move and work. The denim becomes softer with each wash, making it even more of a favorite in the wardrobe for gardening and chores.
Then we wanted a good winter version of the same skirt. We chose our corduroy, it also softens with each wash, making it very comfy to wear. It also looks great with boots and a winter sweater. We carry colors; taupe and a dark green at this time.
Some customers asked for a skirt with a straight traditional hem and a summer fabric. We have all this Homespun sitting here being used for Aprons, it was easy to expand the line and add a traditional Dirndl skirt. We left the pockets flat, the waist elastic and offered the skirt in two lengths. Some people like a short skirt, some like a long skirt. We already offer 9 sizes but with the variety of body heights, we need to offer lengths to fit all the needs.
We then added length choices in the Corduroy Hippy Apron. Hopefully photos of the comparison help.
Whether it’s in denim, corduroy, or homespun, short, long, straight hem or Hippy hem, we hope you find a skirt you like, that you can add to your wardrobe as a comfy favorite. If you click on a photo, it should bring you to the product page for purchase.
