We have ignored Men.
Our recent survey was amazing, overwhelming with information, feedback and customer desires. We are still processing the responses. One thing that glaringly stood out was that our men customers felt ignored. Yes, we had a men’s collection, it has plodded along nicely, but we learned that, in no uncertain terms, we were not stepping up. So we decided to respond to this area first.
We don’t get a lot of mail from men. We get some, not a lot. We had learned in the retail store that Men and Women shop very differently, (at least in our store.). Woman check it all out, they try on things, they browse, ask questions and make use of the dressing rooms. Men would walk in, go straight to Wesley, our male mannequin and his display, choose an apron and walk to the counter to pay. They were gone as quickly. And it didn’t seem to matter if they were in their 20’s or 70’s. It was all the same.
We are great listeners though. And we love the input of information and formulating a plan. We have read and discussed survey results and here is what we did.
We made a Pouch Apron for men that included chunkier twill ties.
We made a bistro, long denim half apron with huge pockets and the longer, chunkier twill ties. To provide the coverage requested (your butt), it can be ordered according to waist size so the back is covered nicely.
We added our Denims to our Chef Apron Collection, in all three denim colors and also gave them the wider twill ties. The twill ties cross in the back and are adjustable.
Lastly, and the biggie……We made a No Tie Apron, cut for the male body. “Why can’t the guys have a No Tie Apron?” was asked over and over. Absolutely! So we designed a new cut, a straight body with huge side pockets just for the male shape.
We strive to be great listeners, so truly, give us your thoughts. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for you. Click on any photo and you will be taken to the product for additional information and photographs.
We appreciate our customers so much. Thank you!
