Cady Falls Nursery, a Vermont Gem
I had searched online to find garden inspiration. I hoped to find places to visit. I found Cady Falls Nursery. And on a warm sunny day last week I was able to visit. I drove down the dirt road, parked next to a barn and old silo, walked under a hedge of enormous cedar trees and came upon the gardens entrance. It immediately stopped me to take pause. What lay before me was stunning. I had never seen anything so beautiful and meticulous.
The old weathered fence was planted with perennials that framed what lay before me.
Once I walked through the arching Evergreen entry, I felt as if I had stepped inside a gardeners soul.
The Shade Garden was filled with more plants than I had ever known could grow in such dark secluded places.
Artwork accentuated every lovely garden.
Old weathered fences stood amongst rows of flowering perennials.
And everywhere, there were places to sit to pause and contemplate.
Trees are stunning here.
Artwork sat in the creek.
….as did a frog.
The rock garden made me rethink my 2 flat rocks at home that sit amongst my Hollyhocks. I found that I now had a new meaning for the term Rock Garden.
There is a Bog Garden, wonderful for those with wet soil. Enter here and you will find a host of plants that will embrace and love your water logged soil.
The Rusty Iron Dress Form was of course my favorite piece in the garden.
There wonderful stone walls and I felt like I was in a century old garden.
Inspired to create Art in your garden? On the way out I found elements to purchase. And where are the plants to buy? Part 2 of Cady Falls Nursery coming up!
