Susannah’s Choice
There are so many limitations to being in business. When we enthusiastically introduce a new apron, obviously, it needs to be available to the customer base. It means suppliers are in place with ongoing fabric deliveries, it is a proven design that the customers like and patterns have been made for production. But sometimes, as a designer, you just plain want to design. You get tired of the Board, decisions, tests and all that goes on behind closed doors. You want to create something from the cutting table, with no plan, no discussion or group agreement. As a designer you just plain want to play designer without worrying about suppliers or anything at all. You crave the act of design for its own self.
We have run a good business for decades now. But I have to admit, when fabric sits in the background untouched, fun fabric lays aside as its too expensive to add to our stock, I crave the quiet time of me and the fabric in my hands, (well not really quiet as music blasts loudly in the studio). Sometimes, I want to design….just design… just create, even if that time births an apron that no one wants. No offense, but I want to create without keeping customers in mind, suppliers in mind or the Board…I want, just for a little while, to play quietly in the studio and enjoy what brought us here.
So, based on my request, our team suggested the new category on our Website entitled, Susannahs Choice. It is essentially my playground. It’s going to be a place for me to play, design, create without worrying about Board members, customers, suppliers or anyone else.
There is a downside. As each design comes with little background support, we won’t be able to guarantee exchanges or returns as no additional fabric may exist, and no listing may exist in order to resell. I will get free range in playing, customers can purchase but it will have to be final sale. I guess it really is my own selfish place to play….:)… If you like an Apron on that page, please purchase… If there is enough interest, the design could find its way into the mainstream of our offerings…. If not, the apron can sit there as proof that I had real fun that day and a very good time.
Thanks for reading and if you would like to see what’s available in this category, here is the link. And maybe the Pink and Orange Chicken Heads on Yellow Linen are still available.
